Rupite, The house of Vanga, "St. Petka Bulgarian" church
Rupite is a village in Southwest Bulgaria, 8 km northeast from the town of Petrich. The Kozhuh volcanic eminence is situated 2 km east from the village. The famous Rupi area is situated in the foot of the eminence in the land of the village; it is famous for its healing mineral springs with temperature of 75°C.
The famous Rupi area is situated in the land of the village where Vanga lived in her last years. Here in 1994 the ‘St. Petka Bulgarian' church was built near Vanga's little house. Vanga's dying wish was for her to be buried in the yard of her little house so that people could draw strength from her grave; although she is not with us any more, she still helps. The ‘Vanga' charity foundation decided to refuse her request and she was buried near the ‘St. Petka Bulgarian' church.
The Rupi area is situated in the foot of the Kozhuh hill. Hundreds of years ago Kozhuh was e volcano. This miraculous land is a result of the volcano's eruption. The area is famous for its rare species (trees and animals) some of which are enlisted in Bulgaria's Red Book for animals on the verge of extinction. A lot of healing mineral springs are situated here as well as Vanga's ‘St. Petka' church. Rupi is an Ornithological Station working in the field of the movement of migrating birds. Vange used to say about this piece of land that it is full of special energy.
The Predela hotel is situated in the Predela area, between the Rila and Pirin mountains. The guests of the hotel could enjoy their summer or winter holidays in the mountains among peace and quitness. The century-old tree is situated in the yard of the Predela hotel; the beech gives positive energy to whomever toughes it. The hotel has suites and rooms which could accommodate from 50 to 55 people.
