Melnik
Melnik is a town in Sputhwest Bulgaria near Blagoevgrad and Sandanski. This is the smallest town in Bulgaria. Melnik is situated in a mountainous region in the southwest foot of the Pirin mountain.
Melnik is a starting point for hut Pirin and hut Malina. The river Melnishka, which is a tributary of the river Struma, flows through the small town. The Rozhen monastery is situated 7 km away from the town. There is a direct path, for all nature lovers, which passes through the natural phenomenon - the Melnik pyramids.

The historical museum in Melnik is situated in the Pashova house, built in 1815;
The Kordopulova house is built in 1754 by a wealthy Greek merchant from the Kordopulos family;
The monument of Yane Sandanski was built in 1972 and it is situated at the very entrance of Melnik.
The Rozhen monastery is the biggest sanctuary in the Pirin region and it is one of several Medieval Bulgarian monasteries which survived relatively intact till the present day. The monastery was built in 13th century. It is situated around 7 km away from the town of Melnik in the lower parts of Pirin and Belasitsa; it is also near the famous ‘Melnik melove' - these are pyramid hills, which were formed from the erosion of the clay soil, situated all round the town.
The Predel region is located 70 km away from Melnik. The Predela hotel is situated in the Predela area, between the Rila and Pirin mountains.
