The village of Bachevo is situated in Southwest Bulgaria 6 km from the town of Razlog in a mountainous region in the southern slopes of Rila mountain and 6 km from Bansko ski resort.

The natural phenomeno ‘Gergyova skala' is situated 2 km from the village of Bachevo. A legend tells that in the early years of Christianity St. George lived in the region and protected all Chritians. After he was expelled he galloped on his horse, reached the Gergyova skala (rock) and there stood a precipice. Then God gave wings to his horse and they managed to survive. Till the present day there are prints of horse hooves on the rock; the legend tells that these are St. George's horse hooves.

According to a survey by Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) 3 mineral springs were chosen, which have shown the highest results in the treatment of different diseases, and one of them is Banishte in the village of Bachevo. The healing consequence, that the mineral water from the Banishte spring has, is unique regarding the gastric-intestinal diseases, wounds, diseases of the nervous system. The water temperature is 26 ° C. The water has some pleasant taste, it could be bottled and it is appropriate for daily use. The balneosanatorium at the mineral spring with healing water in the Razzhdavets region at St. George church is of local importance.

The beautiful Perivol area spreads 6 km from the village of Bachevo in the Rila mountain. Perivol is a Latin word meaning ‘a garden', ‘warm, fertile woodland', ‘a piece of Heaven'. Remains of an old Roman settlement were found in the Perivol area and it is announced an architectural reserve. Here the people from the village of Bachevo come to rest and recharge their batteries with some positive energy. They pick healing herbs and tea leaves, forest fruits: raspberries, blackberries, wild strawberries and many others. The Perivol region is a wonderful place for rest and relaxation. The River Sedarch and its tributary ‘Kuda' pass through the village and they are ideal for fishing.

The Predela region is situated nearby. The Predela hotel is situated in the Predela area, between the Rila and Pirin mountains.
