Located 10 km. north of the resort Pamporovo. Chepelare is a famous town and a ski resort in southern Bulgaria.

The ‘Mechi chal' ski zone is situated near Chepelare; there is the longest and one of the best tracks for Alpine skiing in Bulgaria.

The tracks are served by a comfortable double-seat lift 2,471 m long; the trip takes 17 minutes; the capacity is 500 tourists per hour; there are two tow-lifts and ski cloakroom. Some of the hotels in Chepelare also offer skiing equipment.

The following tourism is popular in Chepelare: winter ski tourism, summer mountainous tourism, eco tourism (rural tourism) and cultural tourism.

In Chepelare there is an unique for Bularia museum of spelaeology and Bulgarian Karst.

The Narechen baths, which are famous for their mineral springs and health resorts, are situated on the way to Chepelare. The Harechen springs hotel is situated in the area; it has room for 40 people and a restaurant, which offers dishes from the Rodopi region.
